Short answer: HoodCleaningCheck gives one kind of recognition: Verified Record, earned from public records and verified reviews. It is free and it cannot be bought. We do not sell any placement, promotion or badge today. Last verified:

A company earns it for a calendar year when all of these are true on the day we check:
- It is on a current official list (FDNY, Boston Fire Department, Nassau County Fire Marshal or City of Nashua) and none of its listed dates has passed.
- No discipline entry on the FDNY Disciplined Companies list in the last 3 years (NYC companies).
- Its own website states hood, duct and fan cleaning (our “scope verified” label).
- At least 3 job-verified reviews on this site, averaging 4.5 or more. Google ratings do not count toward it.
Nobody can pay for it, and no payment of any kind would ever help. We remove it at once if a listed date passes or a discipline entry appears. We have not given any Verified Record badges yet: the first check runs after launch, once verified reviews exist.
If we ever offer paid promotion
We do not offer any paid promotion today. If we add one later, it will be advertising, not an award for quality:
- Anything paid will carry a label that says “Paid” or “Sponsored”.
- It will never say or suggest “best”, “top”, “approved”, “certified”, “recommended” or that we tested or judged the company.
- It will never change official-status details, list dates, discipline records, reviews or the order of companies inside the official lists.
Why we will label it this way: the FTC says an endorsement or award a company paid for must be clearly disclosed and must not be presented as an independent judgment (FTC Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255; FTC Act section 5, 15 U.S.C. 45). This page is a plain-language policy, not legal advice.
